TEGO® Antifoam 2280 – Extremely efficient for the production of polyvinyl acetate and formulations based on it

01/07/2007

Degussa’s business line Goldschmidt Industrial Specialties has introduced a new antifoam for use in the production of polyvinyl acetate (PVAc).
In the production of PVAc foam is created during discharging the reactor and demonomerisation. By using TEGO Antifoam 2280 the build up of foam, which limits the productivity, is minimized. Compared to conventional antifoams the consumption can be reduced by up to 50% when using TEGO Antifoam 2280.
TEGO Antifoam 2280 also shows outstanding performance in formulations based on PVAc (e.g. adhesives).
TEGO® Antifoam 2280 can be used in compliance with the European Directive 2002/72/EC, BfR XIV and FDA-Regulation 21CFR 176.210, 175. 105. This new antifoam is listed on the chemical inventories of Europe (EINECS), U.S.A. (TSCA), Canada (DSL), Japan (ENCS), Australia (AICS), Korea (ECL), Philippines (PICCS) and the People’s Republic of China.
In addition to Tego Antifoam 2280, the many other additives in our range offer a variety of interesting and practical solutions to the numerous problems encountered in the production and use of polymer dispersions.
