TEGO^® RC 1772 for Matte Release Coatings or Low CoF`s

Release coating on smooth substrates will normally lead to smooth and glossy surfaces with high coefficients of friction (CoF). Matting agents are able to lower both the CoF and the gloss level. Silicas are well-known matting agents for free radical curing RC Silicones. With TEGO^® RC 1771 we offered a ready mixed silicone to our customers, with a high silica load. Disadvantage of this blend was that not only the silica portion but also the silicones tent to separate in this product.

We are glad to announce that we have an improved version of this silicone available: TEGO^® RC 1772. This product also contains a high silica load and provides similar performance with respect to CoF and matting. Unlike RC 1771, the silicones used in RC 1772 do not separate.
