Essen – The development of novel corrosion inhibitors for aluminium metalworking fluids was presented at the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers’ 62nd Annual Meeting in Philadelphia/USA, May 6-10, 2007.

Impedance spectroscopy is an extremely useful and powerful tool for the development of corrosion inhibitors - both on ferrous and non-ferrous metals - allowing for the quantification of their performance. Phosphate esters proved to be similarly effective regarding the inhibition of aluminium corrosion when compared to conventional phosphonates.
