New truly multifunctional corrosion inhibitors for aqueous aluminium working formulations

The product line Industrial Specialties of Evonik introduces its new high performance corrosion inhibitors:

REWOCOROS® AL 200 offers outstanding corrosion inhibition of aluminium as well as of steel when combined with amines. REWOCOROS® AL 200 is particularly suitable for the formulation of soluble oils and semi synthetic water based metalworking fluids. REWOCOROS® AL 200 can be used in combination with sodium sulfonates, non–ionic emulsifiers and boric acid amine blends.

Additional benefits:
• Excellent EP/AW properties in water based metal working fluids.
• 73 % readily biodegradable (OECD 301 E).
• Not known to show any detrimental effect on the finished parts.

REWOCOROS® AL 220 provides superior corrosion protection of aluminium and steel as it is and hence allows for the simplification of metal working fluid concentrate formulations. Furthermore, its excellent co-emulsifying properties allow for a lower dosage of otherwise separately added co-emulsifier.

Additional benefits:
• Provision of reserve alkalinity to metal working fluid emulsions.
• Reduced foaming tendency compared to conventional phosphate or phosphonate based corrosion inhibitors.

REWOCOROS® AL 200 is listed on the chemical inventories of Europe (EINECS), U.S.A. (TSCA), Canada (DSL), Australia (AICS), Philippines (PICCS), Korea (ECL) and the People’s Republic of China.

REWOCOROS® AL 220 is listed on the chemical inventories of Europe (EINECS) and U.S.A. (TSCA).
