Evonik Goldschmidt Corporation to Increase Prices for Organics and Silicones

HOPEWELL, Va., September 1, 2008 -- Effective October 1, 2008, Evonik Goldschmidt Corporation’s Industrial Specialties and Household Care business lines will increase list and off list prices for products marketed in North America.

Silicone surfactants and specialty silicone additives will increase up to $0.50/lb depending on the product. Organic products including quaternary compounds, surfactants, amine derivatives and specialty organic additives will increase up to $0.30/lb depending on the product. Select products will be subject to higher increases.

As a result of continued cost pressures, these increases are necessary to remain a viable supplier in these market segments.
